FAQs | Paris Salsa and Bachata Dance Lessons

Do I need a partner to join?

Not at all! Many students join solo, and it’s actually a great way to learn. We rotate partners throughout class, so you’ll dance with different people and build confidence quickly. It’s also a fantastic way to meet new friends in the community.

Welcome! Complete beginners start with Level 1 classes, which are specifically designed for new dancers. You’ll learn at a comfortable pace with others who are also just starting out. After one or two 8-week cycles, many students feel ready to progress to Level 2, though you’re always welcome to repeat any level to build confidence.

Keep it comfortable! Regular workout clothes or casual attire that allows easy movement is perfect. For footwear, choose shoes with smooth soles that let you pivot easily—dance shoes, leather-soled shoes, or lightweight flats work great. Avoid rubber-soled sneakers with heavy treads. Heels are optional but should feel stable and secure.

Where are classes held?

All classes take place at one convenient location: 164 Grand River Street North | Paris Community Church. Here’s our typical weekly schedule:

  • 6:00 PM – Bachata Level 2
  • 7:00 PM – Salsa Level 1
  • 8:00 PM – Salsa Level 2

Please note:
This is our template schedule for the year. Always check your confirmation email or our website for the most up-to-date class times, as schedules may vary.

Our team is always on-txt to help if you’re taking multiple classes or have any questions.

Your confirmation email will specify your exact location and time.

How do the different pass options work?

We offer 4-, 8-, and 16-week passes so you can choose what fits your schedule and budget. Each pass gives you one class per week. The best part? You can switch between class levels or even locations (Georgetown, Milton, or Guelph) as space allows. We want dancing to fit seamlessly into your life!

What if I miss a class?

Life happens—we get it! If you miss a class, you have two options:

  1. Attend the same level at our Milton or Guelph locations during the same week
  2. Extend your pass by one week

Just let us know in advance, and we’ll help you find the perfect makeup option.

What age groups do you welcome?

Our community includes dancers from ages 8 to 70! Whether you’re a teen looking for a fun activity, an adult trying something new, or an active senior staying fit, you’ll find a welcoming environment with others at similar skill levels.

Where can I practice outside of class?

Exciting news! We’re launching “Next Step Socials”—regular social dance nights right here in Georgetown. These events will give you a chance to practice what you’ve learned, dance with fellow students, and enjoy a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Details about dates, venue, and pricing coming soon!

Bringing 20+ Years of Dance Excellence to Paris

After two decades of building Guelph’s premier Latin dance community, Flying Dance Community is thrilled to bring our proven teaching methods and vibrant community spirit to Paris. We launched here in August 2025, bringing the same energy and enthusiasm that’s made our Guelph location the heart of Wellington County’s dance scene to the Grand River community.

From Guelph’s Success to Paris’s New Chapter

Our story began in 2002 with grassroots socials in downtown Guelph; Latin Fiesta nights at the E-bar, summer Salsa in the Park gatherings, and the annual Flying Dance Festival. These adult dancing events grew into a comprehensive dance education program that’s taught thousands to find their rhythm. Now, we’re bringing that same community-focused approach to Paris at the Paris Community Church, 164 Grand River Street North.
