Meet Your Instructor
Your Stratford instructor is a lovely woman in her early 60s who brings warmth, patience, life experience, and encouragement into the room.
She is an example of what dance can do for someone’s life.
Dance has helped her stay active, confident, social, expressive, and connected. She understands that many students may feel nervous at first, especially if they have not danced in years — or ever.
Her teaching style is calm, friendly, and supportive. She will not make you feel rushed. She will not make you feel embarrassed. She will help you take one step at a time.
Her presence is part of what makes this class special.
Students will not just be learning from someone who knows dance. They will be learning from someone who represents the possibility of continuing to grow, move, laugh, and feel alive at every stage of life.

Bringing 20+ Years of Dance Excellence to Stratford, ON | Why Dance Is So Good for This Stage of Life
Dance is a beautiful activity because it supports the whole person.
It is physical, but it does not feel like a boring workout.
It is social, but it does not require awkward small talk all night.
It is mental, but it is playful and musical.
It is emotional, because music and movement can bring joy back into the body.
Dance can help with:
Most importantly, dance reminds people that growth does not stop at 40, 50, 60, 70, or beyond.
You can still learn.
You can still move.
You can still meet people.
You can still surprise yourself.

Not at all! Many students join solo, and it’s actually a great way to learn. We rotate partners throughout class, so you’ll dance with different people and build confidence quickly. It’s also a fantastic way to meet new friends in the community.
Welcome! Complete beginners start with Level 1 classes, which are specifically designed for new dancers. You’ll learn at a comfortable pace with others who are also just starting out. After one or two 8-week cycles, many students feel ready to progress to Level 2, though you’re always welcome to repeat any level to build confidence.
Yes. You can usually join within the first three (3) weeks of a session, as long as there is space and the level is still a good fit for you. (your instructor can guide you with this after your 1st lesson with us). After that, it is better to wait for the next block so you do not feel behind.
Keep it comfortable! Regular workout clothes or casual attire that allows easy movement is perfect. For footwear, choose shoes with smooth soles that let you pivot easily—dance shoes, leather-soled shoes, or lightweight flats work great. Avoid rubber-soled sneakers with heavy treads. Heels are optional but should feel stable and secure.
All Stratford classes take place at Royal Canadian Legion, Stratford Branch #8, 804 Ontario St B1, Stratford, ON N5A 3K1.
Here’s our typical weekly schedule:
Please note: This is our template schedule for the year. Always check your confirmation email or our website for the most up-to-date class times, as schedules may vary.
Our team is always available by text to help if you’re taking multiple classes or have any questions.
Please use the available parking at or near the Stratford Legion. Arrive 10–15 minutes early on your first night so you have time to park, find the entrance, and check in.
Use the main public entrance for the Stratford Legion.
Once inside, follow the music or ask a team member where the dance class is being held.
How do the different pass options work?
We offer 4-, 8-, and 16-week passes so you can choose what fits your schedule and budget. Each pass gives you one class per week. The best part? You can switch between class levels or even locations (Georgetown, Milton, or Guelph) as space allows. We want dancing to fit seamlessly into your life!
What if I miss a class?
Life happens – we get it! If you miss a class, you have two options:
Just let us know in advance, and we’ll help you find the perfect makeup option.
Yes, when space allows and the class level matches your experience. Your pass is designed to be flexible, but please message us before attending a different city so we can confirm the right class, level, and location for you.
Our community includes dancers from ages 13 to 70! Whether you’re a teen looking for a fun activity, an adult trying something new, or an active senior staying fit, you’ll find a welcoming environment with others at similar skill levels.
Exciting news! We’re launching “Next Step Socials”—regular social dance nights right here in Brantford. These events will give you a chance to practice what you’ve learned, dance with fellow students, and enjoy a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Details about dates, venue, and pricing coming soon!
We make it easy to pay:
Just let us know your preference, and we’ll accommodate you!
Your health and comfort are our priorities. Both venues feature:
No. The listed pass price is before HST. Punchpass shows the HST amount before checkout, so you can review the full total before completing your purchase.
Yes. While our Stratford dance lessons are mostly designed for adults, we also welcome teenagers when the class is a good fit. Partner dancing usually works best for students around 14 or 15+, though mature students 13+ are also welcome, especially when attending with a parent or guardian.
This can be a great activity for parents to share with their teenagers. It also gives teens a positive way to build confidence, practise respectful communication, and learn how to interact with people of different ages, including peers, adults, and the opposite gender.
Please note that some of our events or activities may take place in venues where a licensed bar is available. In those settings, parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their teenagers and ensuring they do not purchase or consume alcohol.
Please contact us before registering a younger student so we can help place them in the right class.
Choose Level 1 if you are brand new, nervous, rusty, or still building confidence with Salsa and Bachata basics. Choose Level 2 if you already know basic timing, turns, partner connection, and can dance comfortably without starting from scratch. When in doubt, start with Level 1; we can help you move up when you are ready.
Buying your pass before class is strongly recommended because it saves your spot and makes check-in easier. If you need help paying by cash or e-transfer, contact us before class so we can guide you.
Contact FDComm support at letsdance@fdcommunity.com or use the website WhatsApp chat and choose Support Nico K. Please include your name, the class/location, the pass you are trying to buy, and a screenshot of the issue so we can help faster.

How to Get to Our Stratford Salsa and Bachata dance classes:

Stratford is the perfect central place to build a dance community for adults 50+.
Many surrounding towns have wonderful people, but they may not have enough dancers in each individual town to support a weekly class on their own.
So instead of trying to create small, scattered classes everywhere, our goal is to bring everyone together in one central location.
This Stratford dance hub is for people from:
One central dance floor.
Many nearby communities.
A new place to move, connect, and belong.
When people come together in one room, the energy is stronger. The class feels warmer. The friendships grow more naturally. And the dance community becomes easier to sustain.
