Level 1 — Foundations & First Steps

Who it’s for
Absolute beginners or anyone returning after a long break.

Duration
8 weeks per cycle. For Salsa/Bachata full foundation: typically 3 cycles (≈6-8 months). WCS timing varies by cohort.

Outcomes (measurable)

  • Timing: Keep time throughout a full song (Salsa 1-2-3 / 5-6-7; Bachata 1-2-3-4; WCS walk-walk, triple-triple).
  • Frame & Posture: Neutral spine, relaxed arms; stable connection points.
  • Patterns: 6–8 core patterns for the style (e.g., Salsa basic, side basic, right-turns, cross-body lead; Bachata basic, side basic, box, full turns; WCS sugar push, sugar push, left/right side passes).
  • Lead/Follow: Clear prep/indication

Level 2 — Building Confidence & Complexity

Who it’s for
Dancers comfortable with L1 timing, frame, and core patterns.

Duration
8 weeks.

Outcomes (measurable)

  • Variations: +6–8 layered pattern variations from level 1 connected into 2–3 seamless phrases.
  • Musicality: Identify basic hits/pauses
  • Turns/Spins: Controlled single turns

Level 3 — Complete Foundations + Personal Style

Who it’s for
Dancers committed to finishing the foundation set and developing a signature feel.

Duration
8 weeks.

Outcomes

  • Foundation Completion: You can lead/follow the full Level 1–3 core catalog for your style.
  • Style Development: 2–3 personal style choices (e.g., body action, footwork, frame flavor) used intentionally.
  • Adaptability: Confident with unfamiliar partners and varied tempos; recover smoothly from hiccups.

Beyond Level 3 — Lifelong Dancing & Community

Who it’s for
Confident social dancers who want depth, range, or leadership.

Pathways (choose any)

  1. Advanced Social Mastery: tempo extremes, crowded-floor wizardry, micro-lead/follow.
  2. Technique Deep Dives: spins, body movement, foot articulation, connection elasticity.
  3. Specialty Electives: shines/footwork, musicality storytelling, lifts/dips (safety-certified).
  4. Performance Track (optional): choreography blocks, stagecraft, showcases.
  5. Teaching & Mentorship (invite-only): assistantship → instructor pathway, aligning with your Instructor’s Program.
  6. Travel & Festivals: trip curation; “FDComm Abroad” socials guide.

Community & Continuity

  • Monthly theme nights, peer practice squads
  • Host/volunteer options to deepen belonging and leadership.
