Your stepping stone before the bigger dance floors.
Our dance mantra: Practice = Personal Growth

WHY NSS EXISTS.

After 22+ years of teaching dance, we’re doubling down on what made Flying Dance Community special from the start: real connection through social dancing.

NSS is your stepping stone — a low-pressure space to practice, build confidence, and meet your community before you hit the big, flashy events. Two beginner-friendly lessons give you material to lock in, then 2.5 hours of social dancing at conversation-friendly volume.

Made for practice. Reinforce what you’re learning in class at your own pace.

No performance pressure. No dress code. Just people learning how to be social again, in person – with a Community-First Culture built on 20+ years of friendly faces, clear guidelines, and making beginners feel like they belong.

Here’s How Your NSS Flows:

🌙 Weekdays 6–10pm | ☀️ Sundays 1–5pm

Lesson 1: Bachata (45 minutes)
Learn the basics. Relaxed, beginner-friendly, and fun.

Lesson 2: Salsa (45 minutes)
Building on your turns, timing, and connection. No experience needed.

Social Practice Floor (2.5 hours)
No more teaching — just music, dancing, and real connection. Conversation-friendly volume. Rotate partners or stick with your own.

Where can I practice outside of class?

Exciting news! We’re launching “Next Step Socials”—regular social dance nights right here in Georgetown. These events will give you a chance to practice what you’ve learned, dance with fellow students, and enjoy a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Details about dates, venue, and pricing coming soon!

Keep it comfortable! Regular workout clothes or casual attire that allows easy movement is perfect. For footwear, choose shoes with smooth soles that let you pivot easily—dance shoes, leather-soled shoes, or lightweight flats work great. Avoid rubber-soled sneakers with heavy treads. Heels are optional but should feel stable and secure.

A: Perfect!  The warm-up lessons are designed for beginners, and the social practice gives you a safe space to try what you learned.

A: We keep the volume at a level where you can actually talk between songs. This isn’t a loud nightclub. NSS is a third space: not home, not work, just connection.

A: Awesome! After their first free visit, they can pay $20/$15/$10 per NSS depending on which option they want, or join our group classes and attend free every time (plus bring their own guest free once).

What payment methods do you accept?

We make it easy to pay:

  • Online: Secure payment through Punchpass
  • In-person: Cash or e-transfer available upon request

Just let us know your preference, and we’ll accommodate you!

Your health and comfort are our priorities. Both venues feature:

  • Good ventilation systems
  • Spacious, clean dance floors
  • Regular cleaning of all surfaces
  • Clear entry and exit signage
  • A respectful, inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome
