Not at all! Many students join solo, and it’s actually a great way to learn. We rotate partners throughout class, so you’ll dance with different people and build confidence quickly. It’s also a fantastic way to meet new friends in the community.
Welcome! Complete beginners start with Level 1 classes, which are specifically designed for new dancers. You’ll learn at a comfortable pace with others who are also just starting out. After one or two 8-week cycles, many students feel ready to progress to Level 2, though you’re always welcome to repeat any level to build confidence.
Keep it comfortable! Regular workout clothes or casual attire that allows easy movement is perfect. For footwear, choose shoes with smooth soles that let you pivot easily—dance shoes, leather-soled shoes, or lightweight flats work great. Avoid rubber-soled sneakers with heavy treads. Heels are optional but should feel stable and secure.

We offer 4-, 8-, and 16-week passes so you can choose what fits your schedule and budget. Each pass gives you one class per week. The best part? You can switch between class levels or even locations (Georgetown, Milton, or Guelph) as space allows. We want dancing to fit seamlessly into your life!

A Decade of West Coast Swing Excellence in Guelph
Since 2015, Flying Dance Community has been pioneering West Coast Swing education in Guelph, bringing this modern, versatile dance to Wellington County. In partnership with Remix Studio (since 2023), we’ve built a thriving WCS community that continues to grow every Monday evening at 16 Wyndham Street North.
From Latin Roots to West Coast Innovation
Our dance story in Guelph began in 2002 with Latin dance—the legendary Latin Fiesta nights at the E-bar, summer Salsa in the Park gatherings, and our annual Flying Dance Festival. After establishing ourselves as Guelph’s premier Latin dance educators, we recognized the growing interest in West Coast Swing and launched our WCS program in 2015, with the founder, Nico, teaching those lessons. This smooth, adaptable dance that works with any music has become one of our most popular offerings.

Our comprehensive WCS program takes you through multiple levels over a 6-month-plus journey. Start with beginner basics and advance through two+ progressive levels, each designed to build your skills systematically. Whether you’re transitioning from other dance styles or completely new to partner dancing, our structured approach ensures continuous growth.
Flexible Training Options
