Not at all! Many students join solo, and it’s actually a great way to learn. We rotate partners throughout class, so you’ll dance with different people and build confidence quickly. It’s also a fantastic way to meet new friends in the community.
Welcome! Complete beginners start with Level 1 classes, which are specifically designed for new dancers. You’ll learn at a comfortable pace with others who are also just starting out. After one or two 8-week cycles, many students feel ready to progress to Level 2, though you’re always welcome to repeat any level to build confidence.
Keep it comfortable! Regular workout clothes or casual attire that allows easy movement is perfect. For footwear, choose shoes with smooth soles that let you pivot easily—dance shoes, leather-soled shoes, or lightweight flats work great. Avoid rubber-soled sneakers with heavy treads. Heels are optional but should feel stable and secure.
All classes take place at one convenient location: 16 Wyndham Street North, Guelph | Flying Dance Studio. We offer lessons on Tuesday evenings and Sunday afternoons, using two rooms in the same building to accommodate multiple class levels. Here’s our typical weekly schedule:

We offer 4-, 8-, and 16-week passes so you can choose what fits your schedule and budget. Each pass gives you one class per week. The best part? You can switch between class levels or even locations (Georgetown, Milton, or Guelph) as space allows. We want dancing to fit seamlessly into your life!

Since 2002, we’ve been at the heart of Guelph’s Latin dance scene, transforming casual meetups into a thriving community that spans generations. What started as grassroots socials has evolved into the city’s premier dance education hub at 16 Wyndham Street North, where hundreds of dancers discover their rhythm every week.
From Community Socials to Structured Classes
Our roots run deep in Guelph’s dance history. The legendary Latin Fiesta nights at the Ebar (2002-2015), summer Salsa in the Park gatherings (2004-2008), and the annual Flying Dance Festival (2009-2023) laid the foundation for today’s comprehensive class program. These community events proved one thing: Guelph loves to dance.

West Coast Swing (Since 2023)
• Modern, versatile, and addictively fun. Join us Monday evenings for this smooth social dance that works with any music
Line Dancing (Since 2024)
• No partner? No problem! Perfect for building confidence and coordination in our beginner-friendly Monday sessions.
