Fall Series 1: Sundays, September 13, 20, 27 & October 4, 2026

Is This Workshop Right for You?

Regular classes build your foundation – timing, footwork, turns, patterns, cues, and looking up from your feet. This is what comes next.

You may be ready if you:

Have completed Level 1 and have some Level 2 experience
Can hold the basic timing through most of a song.
Are comfortable with the foundational steps of your chosen style
Want personal feedback on how you move, connect and make choices
• Want the count to move out from your head into your body’s movement,
• Leads: Are tired of reaching for the same five moves with every partner
• Follows: What do I do with my arms?

You don’t need to be perfect, and you don’t need a huge collection of patterns. You just enough comfort with the basics that we can spend our time developing how you use them, not re-teaching them.

Not sure if you’re ready? Reach out before you register. I am happy to help you figure out the right fit for you.

This isn’t Performance Team prep, and it isn’t our Instructor Training course. Those are separate programs that are part of a dancers journey within our community. This is where we develop confident, adaptable social dancers.

Your Instructor

Nico Kaburia, founder of Flying Dance Community, has spent more than two decades teaching partner dancing across Southern Ontario – helping students build not just patterns, but the confidence to actually use them. Read Nico’s Bio →

A featured guest instructor joins select series – announced on each series’ sign-up page as confirmed.

Become More Than Someone Who Knows the Steps

A strong social dancer listens, adjusts, and makes choices that fit the music and the person in front of them. That’s what this series is for.

Connection, not choreography.

Salsa and Bachata run back-to-back on the same four Sundays, so you can take one or both without an extra trip to Guelph.

Create more freedom, flow and confidence.

As Salsa speeds up, the challenge stops being “remember the pattern” and becomes “stay grounded and keep communicating while the music moves.”

We’ll work on stronger timing and body movement, clearer lead-follow communication, smoother transitions, reading musical changes, and building combinations you can actually use on a social floor, not a routine to memorize.

What’s Included
  • 4 × 90-minute sessions (6 hours of focused instruction)
  • A structured progression across the four weeks
  • Coaching from the FDComm teaching team, plus a guest instructor when confirmed for the series
  • Personal feedback in a small, capped-enrollment group
  • Video recap after every session
  • Free admission to the Saturday Celebration Social

The cap isn’t a countdown gimmick – it’s what makes real personal feedback possible. Registration can close early if a workshop fills before the deadline.

Build a more grounded, connected, expressive dance.

As Bachata dancers progress, quality depends less on how many moves they know and more on how comfortably they move and listen. We’ll focus on grounded movement and weight transfer, respectful connection, musicality, and adapting naturally to different partners.

FAQs | Next Level Dance Workshops

What if this is the wrong level for me?

Reach out before signing up and we’ll help you figure out the right fit — no penalty either way.

No. Performance Team trains for choreography and performances in local venues.

This (workshops), develops social dancers: adaptability, musicality, and confidence with a real partner on a real floor.

No. Sign up solo or with someone you know. We rotate partners throughout.

Keep it comfortable! Regular workout clothes or casual attire that allows easy movement is perfect. For footwear, choose shoes with smooth soles that let you pivot easily—dance shoes, leather-soled shoes, or lightweight flats work great. Avoid rubber-soled sneakers with heavy treads. Heels are optional but should feel stable and secure.

Why are classes in two locations?

We use two nearby venues (just a 5-10 minute walk apart) to offer multiple class levels at convenient times. Here’s our schedule:

St Paul United Church [123 Main Street East]:

  • 6:00 PM – Salsa Level 2
  • 7:00 PM – Salsa Level 1
  • 8:00 PM – Bachata Level 1

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 132 [21 Charles Street]:

  • 7:30 PM – Bachata Level 2
  • 8:30 PM – Salsa Level 3

Your confirmation email will specify your exact location and time. Our team is always on-site to help if you’re taking multiple classes or need directions between venues.

How do the different pass options work?

We offer 4-, 8-, and 16-week passes so you can choose what fits your schedule and budget. Each pass gives you one class per week. The best part? You can switch between class levels or even locations (Georgetown, Milton, or Guelph) as space allows. We want dancing to fit seamlessly into your life!

What if I miss a class?

Life happens—we get it! If you miss a class, you have two options:

  1. Attend the same level at our Milton or Guelph locations during the same week
  2. Extend your pass by one week

Just let us know in advance, and we’ll help you find the perfect makeup option.

What age groups do you welcome?

Our community includes dancers from ages 8 to 70! Whether you’re a teen looking for a fun activity, an adult trying something new, or an active senior staying fit, you’ll find a welcoming environment with others at similar skill levels.

Where can I practice outside of class?

Exciting news! We’re launching “Next Step Socials”—regular social dance nights right here in Georgetown. These events will give you a chance to practice what you’ve learned, dance with fellow students, and enjoy a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Details about dates, venue, and pricing coming soon!

From Guelph to Milton: Part of Our First Expansion Story

After two decades of building Guelph’s premier Latin dance community, Milton became one of our first expansion locations when we launched here in August 2024. Now over a year strong, our Milton program has grown into a thriving dance community that brings together people from across Halton Region every Thursday evening.

From Guelph’s Foundation to Milton’s Growth

Our story began in 2002 with grassroots socials in downtown Guelph—Latin Fiesta nights at the E-bar, summer Salsa in the Park gatherings, and the annual Flying Dance Festival. These adult dancing events grew into a comprehensive dance education program that’s taught thousands to find their rhythm. Milton and Georgetown were our first bold steps outside Guelph in 2024, and the response has been incredible. We now operate across two venues in Milton: St. Paul United Church at 123 Main Street East and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 136 at 21 Church Street.

Your Dance Journey Starts Here

Salsa Dancing in Milton

Milton’s Dance Community Continues to Grow
